About Impulse Dance Project

Brooklynn Hill trained 15 years in an abundance of dance styles including ballet/pointe, contemporary, acro, hip hop, tap, jazz, and a pinch of clogging at a hometown studio in southwest Michigan. During her training she grew a love and new respect for the art of ballet/pointe which led her to train at the Indiana Ballet Conservatory. While at the Indiana Ballet Conservatory Brooklynn learned the art and technique of the Vaganova ballet method and gained the opportunity to take classes from professional company directors at international ballet conventions and competitions. These teachings helped Brooklynn attain scholarships to Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, The Joffrey Ballet, Artémotion of Ballet West, and more. After years of training Brooklynn fell in love with the process of improvement and began assisting teachers to help refine technique and spark passion in young dancers. She then spent 3 years as assistant director of a performance and competitive company where she learned that her true calling was influencing the youth, with an impulse to dance, through all challenges and hardships of an active art while becoming independently self-confident. She started Impulse Dance Project in 2024!

Mr. Jaycob Hill started his dancing journey at the age of 5. He is trained in the styles of; Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre. Jaycob joined his local studios competitive team when he was 12 and had many opportunities to travel around the U.S. performing and competing his dances. In 2017 Mr. Jaycob won a national title with his solo "I'm Not That Smart" at DANZA National Dance Competition, which brought him many opportunities to work with and take classes from some of the industries top professionals at the time. Along with that, he has traveled to New York City, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, to further his dance education. When he is not in the classroom breaking it down, Mr. Jaycob can be found in the office making sure all of IDP's behind the scenes are always in "tip-top" shape. Mr. Jaycob is overjoyed to be a part of such a special organization where he can play a special part in making dancers dreams become realities!
